Trading terms and conditions

We pride ourselves in the services that we provide to our customers. However there are some situations where we must define and limit our responsibilities in this relationship. Please read these terms and conditions carefully: They supersede all previous terms and conditions. If you have any queries, please discuss them with us.

Conditions of Sale

The title to any goods or services supplied remains with us until the goods or services have been paid for. During this period all responsibility for the goods rests with the customer. Title passes to the customer only on full payment. All sales are final, without option of retrospective discount, exchange or return, except on written permission from ourselves. A Returns Authorisation Number is required prior to return, and we reserve the right to apply a 20% restocking charge. Software cannot be exchanged or returned. The same applies to any item purchased and then either not collected or cancelled after ordering.

Payment Terms

All sales are conducted on a cash basis, unless a credit account has been previously arranged. Orders for goods should be accompanied by an Official Order Form, full payment being due on delivery. For web or database development and other ‘service’ solutions, we require an initial payment of 50% of the quoted value up front. A credit account can be arranged for suitable customers, providing a credit account application form has been completed and accepted by ourselves. The initial transaction must be on a pro-forma basis. Subsequent payment terms must comply strictly with the credit terms granted. We reserve the right to withhold the supply of goods or services to customers whose account is overdue or who have exceeded their credit limit. Please allow 14 days for credit account clearance. We will charge interest on overdue accounts at 3% above base from the date that they are overdue. Account facilities will thereafter be withdrawn making all subsequent invoices due and liable for interest from the date of invoice.

Guarantee Terms

Hardware items sold by ourselves are covered for a period of 12 months from date of invoice, covering both parts & labour charges. (Second-hand goods carry 3 months guarantee.) All repair work under guarantee is conducted on a 'Carry-in' basis: This assumes that the faulty goods are delivered to our premises and does not cover the cost of transportation to and from the customers premises. We reserve the right to repair or replace faulty goods at our discretion. Due to the very nature of software, we can make no guarantees as to a programs suitability for any particular application. However, if an original program disk becomes defective within the first 12 months, we will repair or replace it if possible. Furthermore, if defects appear within a program, we can only act as the customers agent in negotiations for these defects to be remedied by the supplier.

Additional Charges

These services are charged on an hourly basis of £85.00 (Ex. VAT) with a minimum charge of one hour. These charges apply to work undertaken either on our premises, or elsewhere. Travelling charges to and from customers premises will be charged on a time basis at normal workshop charges. Hardware repair charges only apply following expiry of the manufacturer's warranty period.

For goods delivered or collected within the area bounded by the M25 motorway, a £50.00 (Ex. VAT) standard charge per journey applies. Outside this area, there may be additional charges. Small mail-order items are normally sent recorded delivery and have a minimum postal charge of £15.00 per package.

Exclusions

The full extent of our liability as regards any equipment or services that we have supplied, is limited to the total value of those goods or services in question. No liability can be accepted for consequential loss or any other damages over and above this total value. Faults due to wear and tear, mishandling or damage cannot be covered by our guarantee: If we believe this to be the case, such repairs will be charged at our normal hourly rate. We can take no responsibility for the integrity or security of customers data or other software held on any of the equipment that we have supplied. Customers must assure themselves that suitable procedures have been laid down and followed, such that their data and software is fully protected. We can only advise you on suitable procedures to cover this eventuality. Should data become corrupted or irretrievable, we would make all attempts to recover it, but this work would be charged at our normal hourly rate.

None of the above terms and conditions are designed to conflict with the customers statutory rights, and it is understood that these will not be affected by any of the above.
